First-Year Latin, Semester I
LAT 101 FA
In this introduction to the Latin language, reading ability in the language is emphasized. About two-thirds of the introductory textbook will be covered. (Halfway through the second term, we will begin reading a Latin
novel.)
This course is intended for those with little or no previous experience in Latin; those with an extensive background in high school Latin should consult the instructor about whether they should begin their college Latin
with 101, 102 or 201.
