Portuguese for Spanish Speakers I

Required Sequence: LANG155 & LANG156
This course offers students who are competent in Spanish the opportunity to study Portuguese in an accelerated format. Students who are native speakers or who have completed classroom instruction through the upper
intermediate
level (the equivalent of SPAN112) can seek permission from the instructor to enroll. It is anticipated that by the end of this two-semester course sequence students will be able to read complex texts, easily follow
classroom
discussion, and proceed to the study of literature and other subjects through the medium of Portuguese.
