Academic Year 2003/2004
Pulp Fiction, Italian Style
ITAL 248 SP
This course explores literary and cinematic culture in Italy since 1985. Of special interest are the so-called "cannibals," purveyors (fiction and screenwriters) of "extreme horror." To what extent is the pulp fiction
published in Italy during the last 15 years "Italian" and not part of the transnational market of horror, both cinematic and literary? In other words, in what ways does the genre change, adhere, expand, and adapt in its
Italian manifestation?
