This survey course charts the German literary and cultural developments after the so-called "zero hour" in 1945. The main focus will be on how the past--the act of "coming to terms with the past" or
Vergangenheitsbewaeltigung--is
inscribed in texts from the immediate postwar period until today. (Course conducted in German.)
