Virtual Filmmaking
FILM 440 FA
This course is a hands-on introduction to creating films within the virtual world of 3D graphics. Work begins with the construction of a virtual space and the placement of moving simulated figures within it. Next,
cameras
are positioned (and moved) to create a sequence of shots to be edited into final form in a digital video program, where students will have the option of adding sound. As technical skills are mastered, we will also
consider
the aesthetic possiblities of virtual filmmaking, with glances at experimental film, traditional animation, and contemporary digital filmmaking.

One virtual film, one essay.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Computer experience preferable. Heavy demands on student's time and concentration. Course fee of $60.00 is required. This course is only open to junior and senior Film majors.
