This concentrated study of film narrative begins from these premises: A film is not a book; film depends on its technology; film narrative changes over time; there are narrative devices unique to film; genre produces story, sometimes stars do, too. Two showings weekly, lecture and discussion. Film journal and final examination. This course will explore film narrative through the study of The Costume Film.
