Introduction to Planetary Geology
E&ES 115 FA
This course will examine the workings of the Earth and what we can learn from examining the Earth in the context of the solar system. Comparative planetology will be utilized to explore such topics as the origin and
fate
of the Earth, the importance of water in the solar system, the formation and maintenance of planetary lithospheres and atmospheres, and the evolution of life. Exercises will utilize data from past and present planetary
missions.
