Economics of the Stock Market

This course is intended as an introduction to modern investment analysis. Topics will include efficient markets, portfolio management, valuation theory, performance measurement, and the effects of inflation on stock values.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Problem sets (25 percent), term paper (25 percent) and a final examination (50 percent). Grade will be based on performance in the final exam, the problem sets, and the term paper. There will be a bonus for contribution to class discussion.
