An historical overview from African Expressions to Modern Jazz.
MAJOR READINGS
Selected short readings from periodicals.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
One written analysis of a modern jazz dancer or choreographer, final exam.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Dance training in Jazz or another style of Dance. May be repeated for credit. Students are expected to perform in the Worlds of Dance Concert at end of semester. Students should contact the Instructor for permission
into this course and should attend
the first class. Audition at first class with drop/add form.
