Modern Dance II
DANC 215 SP
This course may be repeated for credit.
Intermediate modern dance. This class will focus on moving with technical precision, projection of energy, dynamic variation, and proper alignment. Emphasis will be placed on learning movement quickly and developing
awareness
of space, time, and energy. Friday's class will be taught by different visiting artists.
MAJOR READINGS
Selected articles.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Attendance at assigned dance concerts, participation in group assignments, short papers.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Friday's class will meet in CFA Studio. Placement on Modern Dance II level is required by recommendation of dance technique teacher the previous semester. May be repeated for credit. Attendance at dance concerts
required.
