Ballet I
DANC 202 SP
This course may be repeated for credit.
This is a basic elementary-level ballet class. Ballet terminology and stylistic concepts will be introduced with a strong emphasis on correct alignment. Selected readings required.
MAJOR READINGS
Selected articles on ballet history and theory.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Short papers on selected topics and films.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Some previous dance training required. May be repeated for credit.
Please come to first class with drop/add form and dressed to move (no audition). Prior dance experience in Intro, Modern, Jazz or the equivalent is
necessary for Ballet I. Professor
will not be available until the first class.
