Computer Science I
COMP 211 FA

The purpose of the course is to provide an in-depth introduction to the fundamental ideas in the field of computer science: languages, algorithms, and computational models. Topics will include the study of one high-level programming language and the functional and imperative models of computation.

One midterm exam, one final exam, and a number of quizzes and programming assignments.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Some previous acquaintance with computer programming is required. Must have one of the following: AP Credit for Computer Science or COMP112. In addition, some degree of mathematical maturity will be expected. Most students will be concurrently enrolled in a Calculus course.
