Galactic Astronomy
ASTR 221 FA
The fundamentals of astrophysics are applied to the Galaxy. Topics include galactic structure, formation, and evolution, stellar populations, and the interstellar medium.
MAJOR READINGS
Several review papers and portions of textbooks.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Several problem sets will be assigned as well as one research project. There will be one midterm and a final exam.
