Museum Studies
ARHA 360 FA

This is a museum studies seminar focusing on studying works of art firsthand to examine issues of quality, style, and technique. In addition to weekly sessions in the Davison Art Center Print Room, students will work on independent projects of their choice. Special emphasis will be placed on learning how to catalog an original work of art and how to produce catalog entries and exhibition labels.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Four catalogue entries (2-3 pages each) on individual works of art and a term paper on your chosen artist's work.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

This is a museum studies seminar focusing on curatorial methods and exhibition development. Permission of instructor required. In addition to the Wednesday class there will be two sessions scheduled on Mondays and Fridays for independent work in the DAC collection.
