The Development of Archaeological Theory and Practice
ARCP 381 FA
This course will examine archaeology from its origins as an interest in ancient material culture, through its establishment as an academic discipline, to its current multidisciplinary sophistication. The focus of this
course
will be on the practice of archaeology, tracing developments in methods, theory and ethics. Archaeological remains and archaeological practices will be examined within a global framework.

Two short papers, two class presentations, and a research paper.
