Making Anthropological Video and Visual Anthropology
ANTH 363 SP
This is an video laboratory course combining theory and practice in nonfiction and ethnographic video making. The course will concentrate on video production with weekly exercises, readings, study of selected films and a
short final video project. The aim is to introduce students to computer-based digital video and video making from the development of an idea, through shooting and editing, to postproduction, concluding with a visual
ethnographic
project.

Weekly video exercises, readings, non-fiction film screenings and study, final video-editing project.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Six ANTH majors and six FILM majors will be admitted. Two FILM and/or ANTH courses desirable. Film screenings every Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. in the CFA Cinema. $45.00 lab fee.
