Perspectives on African American Education
AFAM 245 FA
This course will explore the education of African Americans from slavery through contemporary urban issues. The course will be divided into sections that look at underlying assumptions and ideological frameworks of key
figures, ideas and policies. Finally, the course will critically reflect on various research traditions (primarily within sociology) and compare African Americans with those of other racial/ethnic groups.
