Script Analysis
THEA 280 SP

A course in evaluation, selection and preparation of play texts for production. Scripts chosen for analysis give a foundation in genres, production styles and significant historical periods. This is a prerequisite to THEA281 Directing I. Students demonstrate their script analyses in class presentations and production books.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Submission of fully written analyses and sample production books for play scenes and one full-length play, supplemented by reading and play-viewing assignments.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Reading list of supplements plays.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
