What is it like for women physicians today? What are the politics of the delivery of health care to women? Has beauty become a health issue? Can women physicians make a difference in the way health care is delivered to women patients? What is the relationship between the work women do and the illnesses they get? What role does medical technology play in the health care women receive today? In this course we will explore the relationship between women's roles in the medical system as both provider s and consumers and the development and use of medical technologies. A variety of feminist theoretical analyses will be applied to the range of topics under discussion.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
