This course is dedicated to the study of a realm of social life that many of us take for granted: popular culture. This course tries to uncover the hidden dynamics of everyday life and studies a particular realm of sociological imagination. It discusses what effect popular culture has on American democratic ideals.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
