Murder and Adultery: The French and Russian Novel
RUSS 254 SP
What did the Russians learn from reading French novels? How did they respond to them in writing their own? We will examine how themes taken from one national literature are self-consciously transformed by another,
while learning to read from the
author's point of view.
MAJOR READINGS

Three short papers; one term paper.
