Seminar in Memory Theory and Research
PSYC 381 SP
This course is designed to allow students to conduct supervised research in the area of memory and cognition. Working as a team with the instructor and other members of the research group, students will undertake a
semester-long project on a topic in
memory research. The research group will meet weekly in seminar fashion to read and discuss research articles, formulate plans, and provide updates on experiments being conducted by members of the research group.
MAJOR READINGS
Reading lists will be designed for each memory project. Students will read tutorial chapters and journal articles over the course of the semester.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
There will be writing assignments on drafts of the research report and one final paper written in journal style. This major paper will describe the empirical research conducted during the semester.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
This is a course in the study area of Cognitive Psychology.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
Drop/Add form to the Registrar's
Office.
