Community Development and Oganizing I
PSYC 301 SP

In this course, students will learn about community psychology through readings, discussion, and direct experience. Subtopics include methods in community psychology, community development and organizing, coalition building, collaboration and prevention and intervention. Through the course, students will be heavily involved in some project, group, or organization in Middletown.

Weekly Thought Papers; weekly notes from community involvement; community involvement; final paper.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Must apply and be interviewed to take this course. Open to all majors. Not open to first-year students. Qualitative methods course preferred, but not required.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
