Psychological Statistics
PSYC 201 SP

This course provides a general introduction to the use of statistics in psychological research. Both descriptive and inferential statistics will be examined in class and in the lab. Special attention will be given to the logic underlying the use of statistics in psychology and the interpretation of statistical analyses. In the lab students will learn to analyze data using a statistical package.

Gravetter & Wallrau, 2000, STATISTICS FOR THE BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES, 5th ed., Wadsworth Publishing Co.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

3 in class exams, 11 Problem Set assignments. No final exam.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Each student will attend one weekly lab section. Lab sections are Mon. 1:00-1:50; 2:00-2:50; 3:00-3:50; 4:00-4:50; and Wed 9:00-9:50 AM.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
