An experimental course in optics, including lenses, lens combinations, interference and diffraction, interferometry, and spectrometry.

A text in optics and laboratory instruction sheets.

Laboratory notebook and periodic reports.

PHYS542: 2 spaces open only to graduate students. To ensure equity of access, this is a Permission of Instructor course. PHYS342: This is a permission of instructor course to ensure equity of access, with 10 spaces for
senior and junior physics majors
given priority.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
