Introductory Physics II
PHYS 112 SP
This introductory noncalculus course in some fundamental principles of physics will place particular emphasis on electromagnetism, optics and modern physics.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
This course is a continuation of PHYS 111, and will follow a similar format. While a background in calculus is not assumed, each student who enrolls in the course is assumed to be familiar with exponents and powers-of-10
("scientific") notation,
geometry, simple trigonometry, logarithms and proportions. Problem-solving help sessions, run by undergraduate TA's, are provided two evenings each week; additional help sessions may be organized for some afternoons if
demand warrants. Students taking P
HYS112 may enroll in a section of the associated laboratory PHYS122. Students planning to enter the health professions should be aware that a year of physics WITH LABORATORY is usually required for admission. Consult
