Swimming for Fitness
PHED 122 SP
This program is designed for the lap swimmer who is interested in learning and applying cardiovascular conditioning and training to swimming. Instruction is given in breathing exercises and pacing techniques.
Individual work-load levels are determined
and self-paced programs are centered around those levels. Various training techniques are discussed and utilized in the program. A course prerequisite is the ability to swim four lengths (any stroke) continuously and
comfortably.

- Examinations and Assignments
- Swimmers will be expected to complete a mile swim (any combination of strokes) by the end of the program.
- Additional Requirements and/or Comments
- A course prerequisite is the ability to swim four lengths (any stroke) continuously and comfortably. Attendance required. First class of each quarter will meet in Freeman Athletic Center classroom. 3rd quarter -
122.01 - Jan. 23 - March 8.
- Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a
completed Drop/Add form to the
Registrar's Office.
