Javanese Gamelan--Beginners
MUSC 451 FA
Instruction in the performance of orchestral music of Central Java. Various levels of difficulty are represented in the playing techniques of different instruments, mainly tuned gongs and metallophones. Previous formal
music instruction is not
necessary. Students should not preregister for this course. Interested students should attend the first class with a Drop/Add slip.

Listening assignments, recital and a short paper.

Admission by interview at the first class in World Music Hall.
