West African Music and Culture--Advanced

The drum pieces taught in the beginning and intermediate classes will be brought to a performing standard. In addition, intricate drum pieces will be taught. Students in this class will be asked to perform on and off the campus.

Compositions and/or exercises are presented orally or in notation. Through practice, students master the assignments from one lesson to the next.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Students should pass the beginning and intermediate courses--MUSC445 and MUSC446.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
