Crosslistings: THEA 348 |
This introduction to the rich performing arts and culture of Indonesia focuses on the genres of Java and Bali. The approach will be descriptive and comparative, integrating music and theater. A principal theme will be the differing experiences of decolonization and modernization in two neighboring and related traditional cultures.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
