Intermediate Harmony and Tonal Counterpoint
MUSC 204 FA

Students will learn chromatic four-part writing and three-voice tonal counterpoint and will apply their knowledge to a study of selected compositions. Practice in ear training and sight skills will continue.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Assignments will include chorale harmonization, a three-voice invention, and analysis of selected passages from 19th century composition.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
