Differential Geometry
MATH 283 FA

This course is an introduction to the classical differential geometry of curves and surfaces in Euclidean 3-space. Topics from global differential geometry and extensions to higher dimensions will be considered as time and the background of the students permit.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

At least one midterm exam and a final exam. Regular written homework assignments.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Students should already have taken either MATH222 and MATH221 or MATH222 and MATH223.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
