The History of Middletown: A Research Seminar

In this seminar we will explore the history of Middletown. Among the topics discussed will be local government, economy, immigration, religious institutions, and schools, including this university. My goal is to help
students, particularly prospective
History majors, grasp the complexities of social history and develop their research skills.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Produce two papers (5-7pp.), help lead discussions, and plan, research, and write a major research essay (15-20 pages).

The seminar is designed for sophomores who are considering History as their major.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
