Japan and England share many features in common: Both are island nations and both are postindustrial societies; both are constitutional monarchies and parliamentary democracies; both evolved from feudal societies. Monarchy, parliament, cabinet government, political parties and political culture in Japan and England will be examined in a comparative and developmental context.
