Environmental Policy Analysis: Integrated Case Studies of Environmental Issues

Three case studies of environmental issues, integrated across their scientific roots and policy ramifications, will be conducted to expose the roles of the natural sciences as well as economics and political science in supporting thorough understandings of their integrated and multidisciplinary contexts. Brownfields, acid deposition, and global climate change will be the topics of this first iteration.

MAJOR READINGS

Selected readings from the literature and government/NGO sources.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Final exam. Two/three papers. Group presentations.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
