Desire and Fulfillment: Romantic Art, Music, and Literature
GERM 286 SP
An introduction to the European Romantic period through a close reading of its literature, visual arts and, to a lesser extent, its music. The focus will be on England, the German-speaking areas, and France, though all
readings will be in English. Six
written assignments, some of them short one-page responses, others more extended essays.
