This course will draw from a variety of genres (journals, satires, plays, prose narratives, etc.) and media (literature, paintings, engravings, maps) to present a broad view of how London was used in the literature and creative works of the Restoration and eighteenth century. The course ultimately considers the development of the modern view of cities.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
