This course examines explicitly political novels and poetry, those that represent protest, and/or intervene in social and political debates. Traces central themes of class, gender, and nation, examining relationships between formal changes in British literature and political changes in British society over the period.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
