Writing Fiction
ENGL 165 SP
In this workshop, students will write short fiction to be read and discussed by the class. The emphasis will be on developing writing and editing skills and learning how to create characters, places, and events on the
page.
MAJOR READINGS

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Sixty pages of fiction.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Please submit the following to Sheila Kelleher in the English Department office by Noon, January 19 (Friday): a sample of short narrative prose, fiction preferred but not mandatory. Also, on a cover sheet, let me know
your three favorite writers, and
any related courses or workshops you have completed.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
Drop/Add form to the Registrar's
Office.
