Advanced Fiction Workshop
ENGL 141 SP

In this intensive workshop aimed at developing craft, voice and vision, students will read and discuss short and long fiction and work produced by class members to explore and appreciate the diverse ways to create narrative.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Weekly writing and readings assignments. Eighty pages of fiction and analysis.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Submit a typed double spaced fiction writing sample from the beginning of a story or longer piece of fiction (maximum five pages) to the secretary of the English Department (by campus or U.S. mail). Manuscripts due by 4:00 p.m., Friday January 21, 2000. Include cover page with name, phone number, year, probable major, and anything else you want the instructor to know about you.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
