The Economics of the Stock Market

This course is intended as an introduction to modern investment analysis. Topics will include efficient markets, portfolio management, valuation theory, performance measurement, and the effects of inflation on stock
values.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Problem sets, term research paper (15-25 pages) and a final examination. Grade will be based on performance in the final exam, the problem sets, and the term paper. There will be a bonus for contribution to class
discussion.

Please note that if you do not match one of the prerequisite listings EXACTLY, then you will need a prerequisite override. Students will be encouraged to write term papers using the CRSP Data Set and E-views.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
Drop/Add form to the Registrar's
Office.
