Modern Dance I
DANC 211 FA
This elementary modern dance class is above the introductory level with an emphasis on anatomically sound and efficient movement. Studio work, readings, and homework assignments focus on experiential anatomy and the
development of strength, endurance,
joint mobility, and technical skills necessary for working in dance technique, improvisation, and choreography.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Short written assignments and weekly participation in group meetings outside of class.

Placement on this technical level required by permission of instructor. May be repeated for credit. Students with dance experience outside of Wesleyan may be allowed to pre-register. Please contact the instructor.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
