Topics in the History of Europe since 1945, Part II
CSS 428 SP

This tutorial will be devoted to examination of six topics in the history of Europe since 1945: (1) Liberation, the reconstruction of Western Europe, and the origins of the Cold War; (2) Charles de Gaulle, the end of empire, and the Fifth French Republic; (3) Germany, from defeat to reunification; (4) Italy and Spain, from dictatorship to democracy; (5) the construction of the European Community; and (6) the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Required of all CSS majors. This is a fourth quarter course. You have five days after the start of this class to add it. This course must be dropped by April 1st.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
