Biochemistry

This introductory course to the principles and concepts of contemporary biochemistry presents both the biological and chemical perspectives. The major themes will be the structure of proteins and the basis of enzymatic
activity, cellular metabolism and
the generation and storage of metabolic energy, general principles of the biosynthesis of cellular components.

Several problem sets, two two-hour examinations during the semester, and a final three-hour examination.
