Stellar Structure and Evolution

Some basic concepts of astrophysics are introduced and applied to stars, including the equation of radiative transfer, emission and absorption processes, convective energy transport, equations of state, line broadening, etc. Stellar atmospheres and interiors are discussed, as well as evolutionary process.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Weekly or bi-weekly problem sets, 2 hour exams, 1 final exam.
