Poetry Writing Workshop: The African American Tradition

Weekly assignments are designed to highlight various aspects of craft and to encourage students to explore and examine form, content and context. Readings will emphasize the work of African American writers. Students will analyze critical essays representing a wide range of poetics.

Weekly assignments, one oral presentation, one final paper, final manuscript.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
