Academic Year 2000/2001
Contemporary Ethnic Theatrer II
THEA 326 SP
This course is an advanced version of THEA319 Contemporary Ethnic Theatre I. It will examine a more practical approach to the production pitch. Students will be asked each week to serve as designers, dramaturgs,
directors, and actors on weekly classroom
and environmental projects. Assignments will require each student to participate throughout the semester in all aspects listed above, although an attempt will be granted for special interests. This class is designed to
provide a clearer, more practical
understanding of how a director makes a play.
MAJOR READINGS
Plays will include those from Contemporary Ethnic Theatre I and added weekly readings.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Will be based on participation, weekly assignments, a final project and written paper to accompany the project.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
