Introduction to Cognitive Psychology

This course introduces the core themes of cognitive psychology, the subdiscipline that seeks to discover and understand processes of human thought. The focus will be on how we acquire and use information and knowledge. We will first trace the path that shaped cognitive psychology into what it is today, then discuss contemporary theories and data concerning how information (knowledge) is encoded, stored, and utilized when we perceive, remember, think, and solve problems.
