The course examines the variety, utility and appropriateness of qualitative methods in psychology. The methods of psychological investigation that will be surveyed include the interpretation of text and speech, interviewing, and historical, rhetorical and critical approaches to research. These methods are assessed in terms of their scientific, historical, philosophical, and political qualities. The course utilizes computer technologies for collection and analysis of data.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
