Women in Creative Music

This survey course studies the contributions of women to the discipline of music/music science in the last 2000 years. This course seeks to examine music evolution from a world culture perspective that focuses on the
unique reality dynamics of
trans-European/African restructural music making (thinking) and the role women have played in shaping present-day music science. The course will also attempt to integrate and expose the student to the new materials on
women masters--in this time period a
s well as from the past.
